Wedding Bells Are Ringing

Wedding Bells Are Ringing

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]id you know that June is the most popular month for weddings in the United States? This weekend felt like it for The Cake Mom & Co., with rehearsal dinner cupcakes, a wedding cake and a groom’s cake — all within 24 hours!

The rehearsal dinner cupcakes were our fabulous margarita flavor with Tiffany blue Key lime icing rosettes to match the wedding colors. With polka dotted liners and dainty pearls, they were simple and classy — and amazingly delicious!

The wedding cake (for a different couple) featured a two-tiered, smooth buttercream cake with gumpaste details. The bride chose plummy purples, mossy greens and ivory to go along with her rustic theme. Don’t be fooled by the picture, this was one very large cake: three 12-inch layers of white velvet cake on bottom with four 10-inch layers of double chocolate on top. The simple monogram was a last-minute addition, but worked really well with the whole design.

The bride ordered the specialty groom’s cake as a surprise for her new husband. He is a Stag Beer fan, and owns his own taxidermy studio. By incorporating his business’ names and logo into the bottle cap design, the cake was incredibly personalized and recognizable — and a big hit with the reception guests!
